Self-Cultivated Safety

As a person who has experienced immense traumas and challenges in my life, I’ve had to learn to be much more intentional about where my focus and heart energy goes.

Fears to my sense of safety often come up, screaming from a depth of past experiences that no longer exist but feel real in the somatic world of humanness.

I sit patiently with them, listening to the internal rationalizations of why reactivity must be necessary.

Eventually, the old worn out stories recede as I offer them a space of understanding and a gentle nurturing that says, “your emotions are valid, but right NOW you are safe my dear”.

It is in those spaces where fear is transformed to peace, and the more playful side of me returns with a curiosity for what I want to create in the realm of self-cultivated safety.
