The Challenge of Sovereignty

Anything new we wish to create within ourselves, or the world, will ultimately illuminate any residual fear we hold about what a self-directed life means.

If no one is telling us which choice to make or which path to take, it means WE must be willing to be completely accountable for our choices, regardless of the outcome.

It also means that we must simultaneously dismantle any old stories, beliefs, or actions that support a victim narrative.

It takes moving through many seasons and cycles to see the complexity of how these things may impact us.

It requires the full processing and embodiment of emotional experiences as old memories reveal themselves along the way.

It asks that we say no to dialogue with ourselves and others that repeats negative affirmations that the world is acting out on us, and that we have no choice in the situations of our lives.

It means putting an end to ingesting and regurgitating negative and fear-based information that does not have a purpose for deeper emotional processing, or that provides a choice-point to enact change with action, not superficial words.

It requires disengaging from unnecessary drama that has no purpose for what we wish to create, both our own and others’.

It asks us to get comfortable with the discomfort of displeasing others who prefer to keep their chaos and may not be willing or able to examine themselves, which is not our responsibility to fix.

It demands a commitment to not settling for old things that do not bring fulfillment when we feel unsure if what we truly desire can come to be.

The journey of transformation and sovereign accountable creation is a path not traveled by many because of what it requires US to individually choose and BEcome in the process.

Courage is not a one and done thing; it is strengthened and embodied each time we face fear and CHOOSE ourselves anyway.
